Elephant Festival:

Gangaur Festival: 

This is one of the major festivals in Jaipur and the entire state of Rajasthan. It's mostly women's day. The word Gangaur is the combination of two words: Gan and Gaur, which are synonymous with Lord Shiva and his goddess consort Parvati respectively. On this holiday, women worship the idol of Lord Shiva and the goddess Parvati, while those who are not married pray for a wife.

 

Kite Festival: 

The Kite Festival is a very popular festival in Jaipur that is celebrated by everyone from young children to the elderly. It is officially celebrated on January 14 on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti. On this day the whole sky is full of colorful kites and it looks like a huge collage on a sky blue base. Everyone is busy flying kites and listening to loud music with food and snacks.

 

Teej Festival: 

Teej is one of the most colorful festivals in Jaipur, celebrated with joy and enthusiasm across the state. The festival is held to welcome the monsoons. Teej is basically the feast of women (married women), on this day they worship the goddess Parvati and pray for the long life of her husbands.
